	Thomas Kent Edlund Granite, Utah Beginning Croatian Research Russian Record Sources Russian Language and Handwriting Russian Maps and Gazetteers Research Horizons: Why and How We Do Family History Thomas K. Edlund, president of FEEFHS, is a specialist in East European languages and manuscripts. As a professor of family and local history at Brigham Young University, he teaches curricula in East European genealogy, micro-regional history, and paleography. He has authored many books on language and genealogy, including The Lutherans of Russia, Die Ahnenstammkartei des Deutschen Volkes, Medieval Latin for Family Historians, An Introduction and Index to the German Minority Census of 1939, and A Compendium of Nahuatl Dialectology. He served as editor of the FEEFHS Journal from 1998 to 2008.
	Dave Obee Saanich, British Columbia Introduction to Eastern European Research Germans from Russia Using Maps and Gazetteers Writing a Family History If it's Tuesday, This Must be Lidsbark-Warminski: On the Road in Eastern Europe Dave Obee is author of Destination Canada, the ultimate guide to Canadian immigration records. He is also author of The Library Book: A History of Service to British Columbia and Making the News, a comprehensive history of Vancouver Island drawn from old newspapers. Dave is also the co-author (with Sherry Irvine) of Finding Your Canadian Ancestors: A Beginner's Guide, published by Ancestry in 2007. He has compiled seven other books for Canadian genealogical sources, and has given more than 250 talks at seminars and society meetings since 1997. Dave runs CanGenealogy, a Canadian link site, and Volhynia.com, for those with German ancestry in the northwest corner of Ukraine. He is one of the owners of Interlink Bookshop and Genealogical Services of Victoria, B.C., which runs the Genealogy Unlimited website. Dave has visited 19 countries in Europe during 15 visits, as well as Japan and Peru. He has a keen interest in the world war battle areas in France, Belgium and Luxembourg. He served as president of the Federation of East European Family History Societies from 2004 through 2007.
	Joe Everett Provo, Utah Tracing Immigrant Origins Online Resources, Part One Online Resources, Part Two Introduction to East European Records Joe Everett is a product manager for European databases at Ancestry.com. Before joining Ancestry, Joe was the head of International Reference at the Family History Library, where he also worked as a cataloger of Slavic and Germanic records. Joe earned a B.A. in Russian Language and in Family History/Genealogy (Germanic emphasis) from Brigham Young University and a Master of Library Science degree from Emporia State University (Kansas). He has served as an officer in the Federation of East European Family History Societies, lectured and published articles on Slavic and Germanic family history and Central & East European historical geography and migration.
	Milan Tyler-Pohontsch Salt Lake City, Utah German Record Sources German Language and Handwriting German Maps and Gazetteers Milan Tyler-Pohontsch is the owner of European Roots Genealogy. He specializes in German and Eastern European research and translation of old handwritten records. Being of Wendish birth and growing up in Germany he communicates in some of the languages he is specialized in. He is the co-author of a Wendish lineage book and author of the Wendish genealogical newsletter. Milan has an engineer and a masters degree in economics and worked for many years as a manager for one of the leading European hardwood floor producers. More than 15 years ago genealogy became part of his life. He is married in Salt Lake City, Utah and works for the Brigham Young University. 	Sylvie Pysnak Bountiful, Utah Czech Language and Handwriting Czech Record Sources Czech Maps and Gazetteers Sylvie Pysnak, AG was born and raised in the Czech Republic. She is currently employed by the Family History Department of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as a Slavic Research Consultant in the International Research Consultation Unit at the Family History Library. Sylvie is accredited in Czech research, has a working knowledge of many Eastern European languages and has researched on-site in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland. She has been writing publications and has taught at various conferences since 1998. Sylvie and her husband Bernard live in Bountiful, Utah, and are the parents of four children and the grandparents of two grandchildren.
	Daniel Schlyter Salt Lake City, Utah Polish Language and Handwriting Polish Record Sources Polish Maps and Gazetteers Daniel M. Schlyter worked at the Family History Library until 2010, where he worked with both International reference and as a U.S./Canada and was the Collection Management Specialist for Eastern Europe, Germany, Scandinavia, and China/Japan. He served as a research consultant on numerous genealogical projects. He has worked as a professional researcher for ProGenealogists. He has experience in Polish, Czech, Slovak, German, Swedish, Hungarian and Jewish genealogy. Daniel served on the Polish Genealogical Society of America board from 1984 to 1999 and on the board of the International Association of Jewish Genealogical Societies from 2000 to 2008. He is a graduate of BYU in International Relations and the Defense Language Institute, Monterey, California in Czech. He also has a certificate from the Foreign Institute of Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic. Daniel has published many articles, books, and finding aids including A Handbook of Czechoslovak Genealogical Research and Essentials in Polish Genealogical Research.
	Joanne M. Sher Duluth, Minnesota Jewish Research Holocaust Research Joanne M. Sher is a professional genealogist and historical researcher who specializes in northeast Minnesota, northwest Wisconsin, American-Jewish research and World War I era records. She has presented numerous times at the International Association of Jewish Genealogical Societies, FEEFHS, and Minnesota Genealogical Society conferences. Her articles have been published in the Federation of East European Family History Societies’ Journal, as well as various genealogical society publications.
